Sandy Parcey

Sandy has been a fisher all of her life, pursuing trout in many rivers and streams in Southern Alberta, British Columbia and Montana. It wasn’t until last year she decided to take up fly fishing, throwing herself into a 10 day crash course so she could be a buddy to one of our participants. She has embraced the sport and even though the Oldman River is her absolute favorite place to fish, she also enjoys her weekly endeavors of trying to hook the elusive brown on the Bow. On nice warm Calgary days the draw of the mighty Bow makes it hard for Sandy to focus on her business, Candles by Sandy.

Kathy Hamilton

The first picture of Kathy fishing is at the tender age of two off the dock near her family home in New Brunswick. She has remained a fisher throughout her life and in recent years has learned both fly fishing and the art of fly tying. Kathy is a member of the Calgary chapter of the Hook and Hackle Club and has taken various courses in fly tying and casting. Kathy became aware of Casting for Life at the Western Canadian Fly Fishing Exposition and signed up to be a fishing buddy at the 2003 retreat. She has never looked back. Today, as a Director for Casting for Life she contributes her skills as the CFL webmaster, organizing events and assisting with teaching casting and fly tying. By day, Kathy is a computer technician and for the past ten years has taught continuing education for Chinook College. Although her schedule is hectic with teaching and volunteering, Kathy’s true passion is to be on the water. During the summer months you can find her wading into the mighty Bow weekly to challenge the elusive Brown or Rainbow.
